Chapter 877
I couldn’t help but look at it a few more times. I couldn’t help but think it was strange and normal.
When he saw me looking at him, he raised an eyebrow, “Want a drink?”
I shook my head instinctively, a little embarra*sed, “No.”
It would have been logical to have a gla*s of sake, or a C*cktail, in a place that looked so free and relaxed, with the neon lights swinging and the light streaking around, but instead he was carrying a Coke.
But even that doesn’t strike anyone as unusual, because the people who come here, adults and children alike, even with the lights and shadows crossing and the songs swirling, everything still looks clean and relaxed.
Music plays in the hall from the resident singer on stage, a folk song with a touch of nostalgia.
The music was sad, and inevitably had a few tones that rendered it sad, and I was a little mesmerised by it.
I saw the man next to me get up and leave, and then come back a few minutes later.
When I saw him place a gla*s of juice next to me, I froze and tilted my head to look at him, a little surprised.
He smiled lightly, his features handsome and colourful, “You’re welcome!”
I probably remembered who he was, the man I had seen at my grandmother’s gravestone, and froze for a moment.
Turning my attention back to him, I spoke, “We’ve met before?”
He raised an eyebrow, “You know me?”
I shook my head, “No!”
He smiled lightly, “Then you don’t.”
I hesitated a little and looked at him, “No, I mean, we’ve met before?”
It had nothing to do with knowing each other or not.
He smiled lightly, “Since we don’t know each other, naturally we haven’t met.”
I was a little speechless and paused slightly, “Just because I don’t know him doesn’t mean I haven’t met him.”
There was something innate about the coolness of this man’s body, and when I saw how insistent I was.
Instead, he spoke, “Since you’ve met him, let’s get to know him!”
“Shen Shu!” I opened my mouth and extended my hand towards him, introducing myself.
He smiled lightly, gave a shallow shake, and spoke, “Mu Shen!”
Mu Shen?
I didn’t think much of it.
Perhaps listening to the music was too boring, he said, “There’s a pool and spa on the ground floor, want to join us?”
I froze, looked at myself still in my hotel clothes and said with a light smile, “I probably won’t be able to go.”
Seeing my look, he smiled knowingly and said, “There are swimming costumes on the ground floor, no need to worry.”
After a slight pause, I heard him say, “Since we’re out having fun, we have to enjoy ourselves, otherwise we’ll be letting down such a nice atmosphere.”
I couldn’t help but smile, but I was more or less suspicious of him, so I just nodded and said, “Let’s go then!”
When I got up and left the third floor, I met two colleagues from the company and said hello.
I was not familiar with the hotel, but he was more familiar with it, so when I got out of the lift, I went straight to the spa.
It was an indoor spa, and after looking around the entrance at the swimming costumes, I couldn’t help but raise my eyes to look at him.
He smiled and said, “Wait for me!” With that, he headed towards the men’s changing room.
He came out about five minutes later with a black food bag in his hand and looked at me and said, “Try it on?”
Taking the bag in his hand, I was a little surprised to see what was inside, a swimming costume, and couldn’t help but stare, “You ……”
He smiled lightly, “Try it on first and see if it fits!”
Without further ado, taking the bag from him, I went into the changing room and changed into my swimming costume.
The three piece swimming costume, if you do not wear a cover-up, more or less look a bit exposed.
But with the cover-ups on, it looked a bit fairy-like, which was fine.
Chapter 878
After changing into my swimsuit and exiting the changing room, he waited in the lounge area and froze when he saw me come out.
Looking over at me, he said, “It’s a pleasure, the suit seems to fit you well.”
“Thanks!” The first time I wore a blue swimming costume, it did look pretty good.
He smiled and gestured to me, “Can you swim?”
I shook my head, before in the capital Fu Shen Yan had taken me to play in the villa’s open-air pool a few times, but I basically held on to the edge of the pool, and with a depth of one and a half metres, I stood at the edge of the pool and held on to the shore but it was fine.
It would have taken some time to get off the handrail and swim on my own.
“I don’t mind being a teacher for a bit today!” He spoke, and as he did so he got up and put his hand out to me.
I froze slightly and looked into the pool, the water wasn’t deep and it was basically just children swimming in it, with a few adults just sitting on the shore to look after the children’s well-being.
“It’s all little kids, it’s not appropriate for us to go in the water is it?” I asked.
He smiled lightly, “Just because there are so many kids, many of them don’t know how to swim, so you can learn to swim easily and without stress.”
That was true, if everyone knew how to do it, it would be somewhat awkward for me to learn alone in there.
Most of the kids in the water didn’t know how to do it and had taken swimming laps to teach themselves.
After thinking about it, I said, “I’ll go down by myself!”
Since we were here, we had to have fun too.
He smiled and didn’t push.
I took my swimming ring and went into the water. The water was not deep, about 1.2 metres, so I was able to swim.
It was just that I was a dry duck in the water, and in shallow water, it was a bit of a no-brainer for me.
A child stuck his head out of the water, looked up at me and laughed, “Sister, can’t you swim?”
I shook my head and smiled lightly, “I’m learning!”
The little one gave me a look and instead started to say in all seriousness, “Sister, you can’t learn to swim like that.”
I ……
He sighed shallowly, “I’ll teach you!”
I looked at his age, which was only about ten, and said with amus*ment, “You’d better stop calling me sister and call me auntie!”
He shook his head, “Mum says you should call all pretty girls your sister when you meet them.”
I froze and laughed.
When I say swimming, it’s not easy to learn. The little one kept telling me to be brave, and I, for one, never dared to let go of the hand holding the shore.
So, half a day later, the little one was a bit speechless and said, “Sister, you can’t do it like this, it’s hard to learn, I was afraid to go into the water even when I was a child, but then my mother threw me straight into the water, and then a few times down, I saved it, don’t worry you will be drowned, this water is very shallow, don’t worry.”
Being encouraged by a little kid with such bitter words, I got a little embarra*sed and nodded, trying to loosen my own grip on the bank.
But the buoyancy under my feet was so great that I couldn’t help but float on my feet as I tilted down, with a few moments of fear in my heart.
“Don’t be afraid, sister, you slide your hands backwards and then your feet backwards.” The little one taught me well.
I ploughed the water for a while and was able to get out of the awkwardness of holding on to the bank, but it was a little harder to continue.
I froze and turned around for a moment, not controlling myself, but choking on the water as I strained.
“Cough cough cough ……” a coughing fit.
It took half a second to panic, but the person next to me held me steady in the pool.
